philpot and pauls musique chief tobi ettle starts this year a new series of releases from young and well talented producers around the periphery of the label and record store. the range of musical direction will be very open minded but in general there will be dub techno, deep and minimal techno as well as electronic beats with some italo disco and experimental approach. first is done by steppin wolf originally from basel and now staying in frankfurt/main. before he was living in stuttgart and he was frequenting the pauls musique record store always bringing updates of his latest production. here hes now dropping a deep piece of techno with several acid splash and some kind of a boards of canada-feeling. watch out also for his current release on kanns division mana-all-nite. thanks for purchasing a real copy!

strut present an inspired new afro-electronic project for 2016, kondi band, a collaboration between sierra leonean kondi (thumb piano) player sorie kondi and us producer / dj chief boima, who himself has sierra leonean roots. the project was spawned after boima happened upon an online video of one of sories original tracks. sorie kondi is a blind musician with a will to thrive like no person i have met before, explains boima. my work with him began with a youtube link. i spotted the video for his track without money no family and was struck by his beautiful vocals and socially-conscious lyrics. these incredible melodies he was playing on his namesake thumb piano (the kondi) sealed the deal: i immediately decided to remix it.

after a series of prized splits and collaborations, m_rec ltd s own max_m returns with dissertation , his latest fully-fleshed solo effort. the kidnapper bell was his last ep for m_rec ltd. the avid vinyl lover and collector has since put his -maximalist- values to work sharing wax with the likes of fabrizio lapiana of attic music, as well as with newcomers wrong assessment. not one to rush things, dissertation then comes at a peak time for max_m and m_rec ltd, representing the culmination of a ceaseless dedication to the type of stolid, hypnotic brand of techno intrinsic to both chief and label.

make no mistake, for vault series 15 the doors have been flung open to welcome a new act to the fold. theres very little known about mistake made. no records or releases exist to date, but they have impressed vault chief subjected enough to have them join the sequestered berlin-based crew. and in sublime compliance with the vault series creed, this debut effort from the shadowy outfit presents yet another set of functioning and frill-free dancefloor material, complete with a rusted-through hue of its own. on the a-side >wrist< jumps straight in with marching intent, complete with fidgety hat work thats both anxious and infectious. then on the flip, >ricochet< opens with field recordings tossed into a stormy concoction of ticks, hats and fuzzy atmospherics, teamed up here with one of those basslines that will keep you glued to the floor. >indec< then concludes in signature vault series style an ominous, growling number rattled with alarm bells and screeching, clangorous detail. its one of those monstrous slow-burners that leaves you wounded yet longing for more. all in all, a rounded first release from a new techno tour de force. this isnt the last we will be hearing from mistake made.

deepblak chief connoisseur damon bell returns with more cali infused dance-floor vibes on his teph-tep ep. smooth yet driving teph-tep pulls you into the center of damons grooves, and textures. as with previous releases the emphasis lay in damons arrangements that can power the dancefloor, and sit just as comfortably in headphones. teph-tep sets the stage for damons forthcoming debut lp coming fall 2014 on deepblak.
